Fireplace Solutions The Chimney Sweeper maintains certifications and memberships with the industry’s leading agencies and associations. Our technicians undergo extensive training and continuous education courses to keep them abreast of any local codes and fire safety information, as well as any chimney industry techniques and technology -- and many years of professional experience required to become a Senior Technician. Our goal is to continuously build upon our knowledge and expertise so that we can better protect and serve our neighbors throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

National Fireplace Institute (NFI)

NFI Certified Gas Specialist & Hearth Design Specialist


The National Fireplace Institute® is the professional certification division of the Heart, Patio & Barbecue Education Foundation (HPBEF), a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organizations for the Hearth industry. NFI’s objective is to increase public safety by establishing meaningful credentials for professionals involved in planning and installing residential hearth appliances and venting systems.

Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA)

CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep & Dryer Exhaust Technician


The Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) is a nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors dedicated to the education, training, and certification of chimney and industry related professionals. This certification is earned by demonstrating an extensive working knowledge of chimney sweeping practices. All of our technicians must pass a 100-question test, administered by a CSIA-approved proctor or given after attending a CSIA Certification Review.

Fireplace Investigation, Research & Education Service (F.I.R.E.)

FI.R.E. Certified Inspector


The F.I.R.E. Certified Inspector is the first and only inspection certification within the hearth industry. This professional education provides detailed instruction on the inspection and investigation of fireplaces, chimneys, vented appliances, and vent free products. This includes applicable building codes, manufacturer’s specifications, product identification, listing requirements, case study, historical performance, product design and application, inspection methodology, report writing, and fire technology.

Certified Chimney Professionals®

Certified Chimney Professional® & Certified Chimney Reliner®


The designation of Certified Chimney Professional® and/or the Certified Chimney Reliner® requires a knowledge of the field of study which can be achieved by experience, a study of the Manual for each course and a study of the NFPA 211, 2013 edition. The veteran chimney professional can also earn the Certified Master Chimney Technician™ designation by having a minimum of 8 years full time experience and a minimum of 6 years of certification and by completing the application process.
